Farmer and His Three Sons

Unity is Strength
Once upon a time there lived a farmer in a village. The farmer had three sons. They were always used to quarrel with one another. The farmer tried his level best to bring them to the right path but they never listen to their father.
The farmer was very worried about his sons. He always thought how to convince them. One day he got an idea. Then he called his three sons and asked them to bring few sticks. All three sons went around and brought some wooden sticks with them.

When they brought these sticks, he tied them in a bundle and gave that bundle to each of the son. He gave it to the 1st son and said, "my son !try to break the bundle, can you do it? " and the 1st son said that , "Oh Father! it is so easy, I can break it in a moment" . Famer said nothing and smiled. The first son tried by all his strength but he failed and gave it back to the farmer.

The Farmer gave it to the second son and said "Son! can you break the bundle ? ".The second son said same " Father it is such a simple task, I can break it in one minute ". Again the farmer said nothing and smiled. The second son also tried all his level best, after a while he surrendered, he could not break the bundle and gave it back to his father. And it was the time for the third son to break the bundle and the farmer said the same as he said two of his sons. The third son said that" Father! they could not break it because they are so weak, I am so strong, I can easily break it". Farmer smiled again. He watched the third son also struggling to break the bundle. As the third son could not break the bundle he also gave the bundle back to his father.
And now this time the farmer untied the bundle and gave one stick each of his three sons, and said "you all tried to break the bundle now can you break the sticks?". All three sons broke the sticks immediately.
By now all three sons realized what their father tried to tell them. They understood that if they keep on quarrelling among them then anybody can take advantage of it and can harm them but if they work together they will be unbreakable like the bundle of sticks that no body can harm them easily and they will always prosper. They realised the power of unity.
Moral of the story: Be united and you will emerge as unbreakable.
